Hi! My name is Nelleke. I've been working at Nobel since June 2021 — already four wonderful years. Within the company, I'm part of the finance department, where I handle administration, process invoices, and monitor financial transactions on a daily basis.

It's a position with great responsibility, as solid financial processes form the foundation of a healthy company. The precision and structure this role requires suit me perfectly and make my work enjoyable. What I also appreciate is that my position allows me to interact with many colleagues and departments, giving me a broad view of everything happening within Nobel and making me feel truly connected to the organization as a whole.

What is your role, and why did you choose it?

Before I started working at Nobel, I studied to become an Executive Secretary/Management Assistant at Hoornbeeck College. I worked in that field for the first few years, but I felt that something was missing. During my studies, I had a brief introduction to finance, which really appealed to me. That's why I decided to look for a position in the financial sector. When I saw Nobel's job opening in the newspaper, I applied right away. I'm still happily working here today — and I think that says it all!

As a financial administrator, I'm involved in many different areas within the company. Every day, I process a large number of invoices, both on the purchasing and sales sides. Since new customers are joining constantly, it's essential to keep the accounts payable and receivable up to date. I also handle bank and cash transactions to ensure that all financial flows run smoothly and transparently. In addition, I serve as a point of contact for both colleagues and customers regarding financial questions, which makes my work varied and dynamic.

What do I think of Nobel?

I believe Nobel is a company with great knowledge and passion for the work it does. You can see that passion in every colleague, each in their own way — and I really enjoy that!

There's a close-knit and committed atmosphere within Nobel. With its various departments, the company offers a lot of variety, yet every colleague is truly valued — everyone represents an important piece of the puzzle. Nobel has continued to grow over the years, and it's wonderful to witness that. It's a strong company, and we're proud of what we've built so far and of what's still to come — now and in the future!

Why should more people come work at Nobel?

If you want to work in a close-knit and genuine team, Nobel is the place to be. The diversity among colleagues and the variety between departments make the work extra enjoyable. There's a pleasant, informal atmosphere internally. That's important, of course, but it's also about the content of the work itself.

In the maritime industry, something changes every year — new technologies, developments, and insights. As a company, you grow along with it and continuously learn. At Nobel, you never stand still!
