On Friday, April 29, A. Nobel & Zn. was at the center of a special visit by, among others, Provincial Executive Member Jeannette Baljeu and Aldermen Robert Simons (Rotterdam), Tycho Janssen (Zwijndrecht), and Maaike Zwart (Delft).

The visit to Nobel highlighted the importance of continuously improving and, where possible, digitizing processes within SMEs. It also underscored the value of the Digitalzh platform and its digitization project, Datawerf, which is supported by the Province of South Holland.

Datawerf came at just the right time

Having a vision is one thing — putting it into practice is another. That's why Datawerf came at just the right time. Datawerf helped Nobel gain deeper insight into ongoing digital developments and understand what these changes mean for the company as it continues to focus on providing customers with the highest level of service in the future.

Although the subsidy program with Datawerf has now concluded, Nobel is continuing along its chosen path — further optimizing internal processes and expanding its digital services. This is done in close collaboration with customers, ensuring that they get exactly what they need: clear communication and orders delivered quickly, completely, accurately, and with true expertise.

"The finest voyage to the future" That's what Nobel stands for.

Step by step

Customers want orders delivered quickly, completely, accurately, and with real expertise — and that's where Nobel has stood out for years. Yet with today's digital possibilities, unburdening customers can go much further. At the same time, Nobel is growing rapidly, so internal processes are being thoroughly reviewed to keep service at a very high level.

More and more customers are now discovering the digital options. A growing group expects to place ship-specific orders through Nobel's webshop portal — optionally integrated with their own procurement system. This way of purchasing provides overview and insight, and it also enables clear agreements on what may be purchased and in what quantities.

The success of digitalization starts with a clear vision — and Nobel has one: "The finest voyage to the future" A shipowner should be able to focus on cargo or other value-creating work. Everything around it should be handled by companies like Nobel.
