My name is Ben van den Berg, and since 2023 I've been part of the Nobel team with great enthusiasm. I've now been working for two and a half years as a sales representative in the Filtration & Separation department, where I focus on marine engines and maritime technology, with filter sales at the core of my work. In this role, I serve as the link between the technical and commercial sides — from communicating with suppliers to advising customers, both on-site and at our office and shipstore.

What makes the job so rewarding is the variety and the mix of different maritime sectors. It's fulfilling to know that at Nobel, we don't just deliver products — we truly think along with our customers.

Why did you choose this role?

Before joining Nobel, I gained many years of experience in sales. In my previous roles, I mainly focused on Dutch-speaking customers, and my work area was quite local. What really attracted me to this position was its international character. At Nobel, I work with customers from all over the world, which brings a whole new dynamic to the job.

Every customer has their own needs, applications, and challenges, which means no two days are the same. The international aspect makes the work diverse and broadens my perspective — both professionally and personally. I really enjoy interacting with different cultures and markets, and I get a lot of energy from building long-term relationships with customers around the globe. That's what makes this role not only challenging but also highly rewarding and inspiring.

What do you think of Nobel?

For me, Nobel is a great and professional company to work for. What I especially appreciate is that, as a team, we're flexible and always willing to go the extra mile for the customer. Whether it's a small order or a large, complex project, we're fully committed to finding the right solution. That sense of dedication is visible in everything we do. We think along with the customer, give honest advice, and make sure they're supported not only in the short term but also for the future. This approach builds trust — and that's why customers keep coming back.

Nobel is, above all, a reliable partner. What we promise, we deliver — that's a core value deeply rooted in the company. Customers know they can count on us, whether it's for deliveries, service, or advice. On top of that, Nobel has an incredible amount of technical expertise. That's a major reason why customers turn to us: they know they're not just buying a product, but also receiving professional guidance and support.

Internally, there's also a pleasant and collegial atmosphere. Everyone is ready to help one another, and there's plenty of room for collaboration and learning from each other. That makes working at Nobel not only professionally rewarding but also personally fulfilling. It's precisely this combination of dedication, reliability, and expertise that makes Nobel such a strong and unique company in the market.

The company listens to the market, the customer, and its team — and actively responds to new demands and (digital) developments. This balance between reliability and innovation is what allows us to keep setting ourselves apart.

Why should more people come work at Nobel?

There's an informal and open working atmosphere at Nobel. Communication is direct and clear, and the short lines make it easy to act quickly. On top of that, the Sales department is often just a fun place to be — we work hard, but there's always room for jokes and personal conversations.

What I find most important is that we truly help each other. If someone gets stuck or needs an extra hand, there's always a colleague ready to step in. You're never on your own. That's what makes working at Nobel not only professional and challenging but also enjoyable and human. You really feel part of a close-knit team — and that gives a lot of energy.
